Leagues

A league needs an account, and the only one on offer is Discord. There is no email or password sign-up. The sign-in asks Discord for identify and nothing else — your username, your avatar and your user id — and it cannot read your servers, your messages or your email address.

Nothing else on this site needs it. The schedule, the team and player pages, the previews, the predictor, the bracket and your own scorecard all work signed out; picks made signed out stay in your browser. Once you are in a league your picks are also sent to the server, because a league has to grade them against a clock you do not control.

One point a game is what it sounds like. Confidence points means you rank your picks 1–10 on the weekly ten and a wrong favorite costs what you said it was worth — which is the version worth arguing about.

Picks lock at kickoff and stay private until then. You can see that a league mate has picked a game; you cannot see which side until the game starts. That is what stops the last person to open the page from copying the room, and it is enforced on the server against the server’s clock, not the clock of the person being graded.

A finished game is the only thing that scores. A game at halftime has a score on the board and is not a result, so it pays nothing and stakes nothing. A game that ends level is a tie and scores for neither side.
